Whether it is a birthday, Valentines day, Mother’s day, Christmas or just a Monday to start the week on a happy note, plants are always a great gift! Especially for a plant lover. And what is even more cute? A heart shaped leaf plant to say I love you.
When you look at some plants, the word heart automatically pops up in your mind. And then, there are more subtle heart looking plants. Even though the Philodendron Hederaceum is commonly known as the heart leaf Philodendron, you actually need to stop and look at it’s leaves to appreciate the message.
On the other hand, a not so subtle “heart plant” is the Hoya Kerrii (sweetheart Hoya, Valentine Hoya), one of the most common plant sold for Valentine’s day. They usually sell it as one single leaf, or you could say, one heart.
In my opinion, if you want to gift this Hoya, I would go a step further and find one that already has a vine with a couple of leaves – that looks even cuter!
Monstera Deliciosa made it on my list especially because of its “young” leaves without any fenestrations. Its just such a cool plant, easy to take care of, that changes as it grows, and slowly becomes the statement piece in your home.
Anthurium speaks for itself, whether is has red or pink (or any other color) bracts (leaves), its always breathtaking.
